Alfie has, after a 40-year marriage abandoned Helena and passionate marriage to the half as old, indeed infidels "shill" Charmin, who is now pregnant (but with whom wonder Alfie). The distraught Helena put themselves in the fortune teller hands and rely on the crystal ball, which tells of an encounter with a tall, dark stranger. Helena's and Alfie's daughter Sally is married to writer Roy, who gets his latest book, refused. Roy flirts with the young Dia - "the girl in red in the window opposite," which has a fiance that she soon will marry. Sally is also a little taste of his boss Greg. Everything is set for a complicated, painful story.

The cast is absolutely superb - in a film that deals with crashed dreams!
