Title: Amélie (Amélie från Montmartre)
Original title: Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
Director: Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Release Date: October 2001

Cast: Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Jamel Debbouze, Lorella Cravotta.

A humorous, dreamy, and beautiful film, featuring a "doe-eyed charm troll" in the leading role.

Little Amélie (Audrey Tautou) grows up in a pedantic home with parents incapable of physical contact. They are overly protective, and the child is judged so frail that she is homeschooled by her mother, thus denied interaction with other children. When Amélie has check-ups with the pediatrician, her heart beats so violently at his touch that they believe she has a heart defect...

Naturally, this dull and lonely upbringing shapes Amélie, and as an adult, she lives a withdrawn single life. She works as a waitress at the cozy café "The Two Windmills" (Les Deux Moulins), surrounded by a gallery of eccentric colleagues and regulars.

Then, one day, Amélie's life changes. While startled by news of Princess Diana's accident, she drops a glass stopper which dislodges a wall tile, revealing a hidden tin box filled with childhood memories from decades ago. After secretly returning the box to its owner and seeing his joy, Amélie decides to dedicate her life to orchestrating small miracles for the people around her.

But while she is busy fixing everyone else's lives, she encounters a mysterious man at a photo booth. He collects discarded, torn-up photos, and Amélie finds herself falling for someone as unconventional as she is. Could these two kindred spirits find each other?

The film was awarded a Guldbagge for Best Foreign Film 2001 at the Swedish Film Gala.

Editor’s Note (2026): While the rest of the world was swept away by a global tidal wave of whimsy, Iva stood her ground. Her 3-paw rating is a testament to her legendary professional integrity; she refused to dole out "free paws" simply because a film was a phenomenon. In this archive, a 3-paw rating from Iva is a badge of quality that many films had to work very hard to earn!

Titel: Amélie från Montmartre
Originaltitel: Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
Regi: Jean-Pierre Jeunet
Premiär: Oktober 2001

I rollerna: Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Jamel Debbouze, Lorella Cravotta

Stop missing out on the biggest metabolic advantage of Extra Virgin Olive Oil! If you use EVOO for weight management and satiety, you must understand the science of timing. This video reveals the single best time, backed by GLP-1 research, to consume raw EVOO to maximize appetite control and optimize your blood sugar response.

👉 THE NIGHTTIME PROTOCOL: Maximize your EVOO benefits around the clock! The Metabolic Mechanism: Why Timing Matters

For those interested in the deep science behind this timing protocol, the goal is not simply calorie counting, but hormonal optimization for spontaneous appetite control.

Consuming Extra Virgin Olive Oil 15-20 minutes pre-meal triggers the powerful release of GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) from the gut. This hormone accomplishes two crucial tasks: Increased Satiety: GLP-1 signals fullness to the brain earlier, resulting in spontaneous lower total calorie consumption during the main meal—a key strategy for weight management. Blood Sugar Control: GLP-1 also slows gastric emptying, which delays the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This leads to a smoother, better blood sugar

response over the following two hours. This timing protocol is designed to use EVOO as a metabolic pre-load for maximum weight and blood sugar control..

Because..timing matters
