Title: Beck - The Last Witness (Beck – Sista vittnet) Director: Harald Hamrell
Release Date: January 2002
Music: Adam Norén

An exciting thriller and a guaranteed box-office hit! This film serves as a "thank you and farewell" to Inspector Beck (Peter Haber), who has been hunting killers on the big screen since the mid-seventies. It feels somewhat melancholy to follow Martin Beck and his tough colleague Gunvald Larsson (Mikael Persbrandt) for the last time as they hunt a seemingly cold-blooded psychopath terrorizing the Stockholm area.

Three mutilated female corpses are found, their faces dissolved by acid. Initially, the police are fumbling in the dark—until a clue is discovered. A small scrap of paper is found in the pocket of one of the murdered girls with the words "Ängshjärtats Pl." written on it. This begins a thread that eventually yields results.

It is Gunvald who, wholeheartedly and in a class of his own, throws himself into the most dangerous situations, while Martin mostly struggles with heart troubles... of various kinds, one might say!

The duo isn't up against amateurs; they are facing real "tough guys" from the East who use advanced methods and certainly don't play fair.

There is no shortage of "stänkare" (drinks) in this thriller either! The scenes with Beck’s neighbor (Ingvar Hirdwall) have always been the "golden nuggets" of the Beck films. I am going to miss them!

Editor’s Note (2026): It’s amusing to read this today, knowing that the Beck series would eventually produce over 50 films! At the time, *Sista vittnet* was truly intended to be the grand finale. While perhaps more of a solid genre piece than a cinematic masterpiece, it captures the iconic dynamic between Haber and Persbrandt at a pivotal, "final" moment in their history.

Titel: Beck – Sista vittnet
Regi: Harald Hamrell

Stop missing out on the biggest metabolic advantage of Extra Virgin Olive Oil! If you use EVOO for weight management and satiety, you must understand the science of timing. This video reveals the single best time, backed by GLP-1 research, to consume raw EVOO to maximize appetite control and optimize your blood sugar response.

👉 THE NIGHTTIME PROTOCOL: Maximize your EVOO benefits around the clock! The Metabolic Mechanism: Why Timing Matters

For those interested in the deep science behind this timing protocol, the goal is not simply calorie counting, but hormonal optimization for spontaneous appetite control.

Consuming Extra Virgin Olive Oil 15-20 minutes pre-meal triggers the powerful release of GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) from the gut. This hormone accomplishes two crucial tasks: Increased Satiety: GLP-1 signals fullness to the brain earlier, resulting in spontaneous lower total calorie consumption during the main meal—a key strategy for weight management. Blood Sugar Control: GLP-1 also slows gastric emptying, which delays the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This leads to a smoother, better blood sugar

response over the following two hours. This timing protocol is designed to use EVOO as a metabolic pre-load for maximum weight and blood sugar control..
