Title: A Summer Tale (Den bästa sommaren)
Directors: Ulf Malmros & Lars Johansson
Release Date: March 2000

Cast: Kjell Bergqvist, Rebecca Scheja, Anastasios Soulis, Brasse Brännström, Cecilia Nilsson

"A Summer Tale" is a movie that makes you happy! It is warm, tender, and beautiful, but above all, human.

Yngve (Kjell Bergqvist) is an undertaker in the small village of Molkom. Every summer, foster children come to his home, and this summer of 1958, Annika (Rebecca Scheja) and Mårten (Anastasios Soulis) arrive. These two will change Yngve's entire world, though he is unaware of it in this story of love, which is truly a golden little fairy tale with all its credibility intact!

Yngve lives by three rules: "Never be happy," "Never think you are anyone special," and "Expect nothing from life." Outwardly, he is quite sullen and gruff, but if you scratch just a little beneath the surface, he is actually very sweet. Yngve is as traditionally Swedish as anyone can be, shaped early on by the "Law of Jante." For God's sake, beware of appearing special! In a small Swedish backwater, no one is allowed to "stick out" without being punished.

Annika and Mårten take it upon themselves to find happiness for Yngve. Surely he shouldn't live alone for the rest of his life! Miss Svanström (Cecilia Nilsson), the local primary school teacher, is an artistic woman who loves to sing, play, and dance. She lives a decent life, but she misses the closeness and tenderness of a man.

Ulf Malmros wrote the humorous script. Kjell Bergqvist was awarded a Guldbagge for Best Male Lead in 2000.

Editor’s Note (2026): (*) This review was originally archived with a 3-paw rating. However, Iva’s glowing description—calling the film a "golden little fairy tale" and praising it as "beautiful" and "human"—strongly suggests a much higher regard, possibly indicating a clerical error in the original scoring. We encourage readers to let the text speak for itself.

Titel: Den bästa sommaren Regi: Ulf Malmros & Lars Johansson
Premiär: Mars 2000

I rollerna: Kjell Bergqvist, Rebecca Scheja, Anastasios Soulis, Brasse Brännström, Cecilia Nilsson

Stop missing out on the biggest metabolic advantage of Extra Virgin Olive Oil! If you use EVOO for weight management and satiety, you must understand the science of timing. This video reveals the single best time, backed by GLP-1 research, to consume raw EVOO to maximize appetite control and optimize your blood sugar response.

👉 THE NIGHTTIME PROTOCOL: Maximize your EVOO benefits around the clock! The Metabolic Mechanism: Why Timing Matters

For those interested in the deep science behind this timing protocol, the goal is not simply calorie counting, but hormonal optimization for spontaneous appetite control.

Consuming Extra Virgin Olive Oil 15-20 minutes pre-meal triggers the powerful release of GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) from the gut. This hormone accomplishes two crucial tasks: Increased Satiety: GLP-1 signals fullness to the brain earlier, resulting in spontaneous lower total calorie consumption during the main meal—a key strategy for weight management. Blood Sugar Control: GLP-1 also slows gastric emptying, which delays the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This leads to a smoother, better blood sugar

response over the following two hours. This timing protocol is designed to use EVOO as a metabolic pre-load for maximum weight and blood sugar control..

🚨 THE SCIENCE HAS CHANGED! Your deepest health belief about alcohol is being challenged. We analyze the comprehensive data from The Lancet that demolishes the old "J-Curve" myth and confirms that zero alcohol consumption minimizes health risk.

We explore the difficult question: Is the minor risk from an occasional "skol" worth the major, validated benefit of social inclusion and connection? This is the final, nuanced guide to making your informed choice.

I explain: Why I personally stopped almost all drinking after seeing this data.
